About: Beatrice Leonard

Beatrice Leonard is no newcomer when it comes to radio and television programming. As a radio host on CRIS (Chicago Radio Information Service) Radio for over 18 years, Leonard has hosted several radio shows of her own and has amassed an impressive list of interviewees that include author Francis Ray, musician Nick Colionne, radio personality Cliff Kelly, and radio station president and general manager Melody Spann-Cooper. Prior to hosting her most recent Internet radio program, “On the Move,” Leonard hosted “Housing, Homes and Etc.” on WVON every Saturday. The program – which later moved to WBBE – focused on matters such as decorating and hiring home contractors. In addition to radio, Leonard has also dabbled in television, hosting her own talk show entitled “Walking with Rhythm.” The show – which discussed social services and parenting as an individual with a disability – was on air for 3 years on cable channel 19. Aside from radio and television, Leonard is an advocate, real estate broker, and president of Van Dyke Communications LLC. In her role as president, Leonard advocates for people in the disabled community concerning job readiness, on the job training, seminars, and outreach to businesses and organizations. As a real estate broker, Leonard assists disabled individuals in the home buying and selling process. She also actively supports the disabled community when it comes to housing and adaptive equipment. Today, Leonard is getting the disabled community to come outside of their comfort zone with her new television program – “Travelers with Disabilities Having Fun.”
